My first PC was an Intel 8080 based S-100 system which I assembled from a kit in 1977. This experience provided me with an in-depth understanding of the hardware that included learning to use an oscilloscope to debug a design problem with the disk controller. Because of these early efforts, I have been able develop an ongoing understanding of the relationship between the hardware and the software at both the PC and the mainframe level.

I have installed an inexpensive local area network (LAN) in my home and have three or four systems sharing printers and file systems. Although one of my systems has run Unix, I now concentrate on the Microsoft Windows environment and run Windows 3.11, Windows 95 and Windows NT in addition to MS-DOS.

I have assisted numerous individuals with PC decisions, trouble shooting and both software and hardware installations. I have also done part time PC consulting and system integration for individuals and companies.
